The appearance between the Eastern Painted, Midland Painted, & Southern Painted turtles are almost identical, except for a few notes.
Eastern Painted: Has
Midland Painted: Usually a plain color (dark green to drab) carapace with strong red-color on the margin/brigde area of the turtle
Southern Painted: Has a line that runs down the middle of the carapce shell, from the nuchal( forward most position) to the , straight down the middle/vertebrate.
The Western Painted is the only one of the four that has a color appearance and pattern that differs from the Organiztions turtles species
