There is a lot to say about my experiences there are Phillips Exeter Academy. I guess it was one of the most character building points in my life.
I wish I could pinpoint on one thing, but there isn't just one thing to really describe the whole thing.
P.E.A. is definitely a worthwhile experience. I know I learned alot, education
and about myself. I wish I learned the latter sooner, especially while I was there.
When I first heard of P.E.A., or boarding school for that matter, I thought it
would definitely be something I would enjoy very much. An opportunity to get out from
under the tyrannic hold of the Public Education System of NYC, that in a few years
would crumble and begin to have lower standards then what was currently seen. Plus I
didn't like the possibilities of High Schools in my area, so going away was definitely
a beneficial move.
The only problem that halted me from really excelling at P.E.A. was not being
properly prepared for the environment. I wish I was.
It's hard to enter something without the proper tools and survive. But the longer you continue to exist in that environment, the more you adapt... Unfortunely, that was something else that I did not do.
'Why?' would probably be the singular word question that would come to mind next. My response... I don't know. I wish I had a clue why I didn't adapt.
More to come soon.
